The Number Intelligence feature in Pest AI is a powerful tool that helps you manage phone communications more efficiently. It minimizes spam calls, validates phone numbers before sending SMS, and identifies unknown callers. This article provides an easy-to-follow guide on how the feature works, its benefits, and how to customize it for your business needs.
Spam Detection
Flags spam calls from unknown U.S. numbers (+1 country code).
Marked calls are labeled as “Spam Likely” in call logs and conversations for quick identification.
Name Lookup
Retrieves names of unknown U.S. callers, helping you create a more personalized communication experience.
Number Validation
Verifies phone numbers worldwide before sending SMS to ensure successful delivery.
Reduce Spam Calls
Prevent unwanted interruptions by blocking fraudulent calls before they reach your team.
Improve Call Answer Rates
Focus on genuine leads by reducing distractions from spam calls.
Enhance Caller Engagement
Personalize your interactions with leads by addressing them by name, courtesy of the Name Lookup feature.
Boost SMS Success
Ensure messages are delivered by sending SMS only to valid numbers.
To manage Number Intelligence settings in Pest AI:
Go to Settings > Phone Numbers > Advanced Settings > Number Intelligence.
Toggle the switch to enable or disable the feature.
When enabled, all three components—Spam Detection, Name Lookup, and Number Validation—will be activated.
Spam Detection
Screens incoming calls from unknown numbers that aren’t saved in your contacts.
Applies to U.S. numbers only.
Name Lookup
Retrieves names for unknown U.S. callers before the call is answered, making it easier to engage professionally.
Number Validation
Verifies the validity of new numbers worldwide before sending SMS, reducing delivery errors.
Calls identified as “Spam Likely” will be clearly marked in the web dialer and Contacts tab for easy management.
Contacts flagged as spam will display a “Spam Likely” tag in the Contacts tab, providing clear visibility.
The Name Lookup feature is triggered for U.S. phone numbers when:
The number is not saved as a contact.
The contact exists but does not have a name saved.
What happens if I disable Number Intelligence?
Disabling this feature stops spam detection, name lookups, and SMS validations. Calls and SMS will continue, but spam won’t be flagged, and names of unknown callers won’t appear.
Can I customize which features are enabled?
Not at this time. All three features—Spam Detection, Name Lookup, and Number Validation—are either fully enabled or disabled.
Does this feature work outside the U.S.?
Spam Detection and Name Lookup are limited to U.S. numbers, but Number Validation works globally.
How does Pest AI handle spam calls?
Spam calls are flagged as “Spam Likely” and appear in call logs and conversations. You can also add flagged numbers to your inbound DND list for further blocking.
Will I be notified of spam calls?
Yes, spam calls are marked as “Spam Likely” and are visible in call logs and the Contacts tab.
