Step 1: Adding DNS Records to Your Hosting Provider
Depending on your DNS provider, follow one of our detailed guides listed below:
TXT Records
You'll need to add two types of TXT records for SPF and DKIM to enable secure email sending and receiving:
For SPF: Add a TXT record for
mail.yourdomain.com
(or simply ‘mail’ if only the subdomain is required). Use the values provided by Pest AI CRM.For DKIM: Add another TXT record for
mx._domainkey.mail.yourdomain.com
. This configuration may vary slightly depending on the provider.
Given that a subdomain is used, create a new TXT record using mail.yourdomain.com
as the hostname. For some providers, you might only need to input ‘mail’ as the subdomain. Enter the value provided by Mailgun for this record. The TTL can be left at the default setting.
Clicking Add Record will add your first DNS entry for your domain!
Add another TXT record for mx._domainkey.mail.yourdomain.com. Cloudflare only shows the subdomain, so your result will look like this:
MX Records
Add two MX records to handle mail exchanges:
Use
mail.yourdomain.com
as the hostname.Set the priority to 10 for both records.
CNAME Record
A CNAME record is necessary for enabling open and click tracking in your emails, which offers valuable insights into your email performance:
Add the CNAME the same way as the others. The hostname for this record should be email.mail.yourdomain.com
.
